Beka
However, it IS the post that will explain where that post is.
Unfortunately, a combination of work and a killer migraine conspired to keep me from finishing pretty much anything this past week. I know, I know… “Beka, stop with the excuses and just admit you did nothing but play World of Warcraft!” Okay, that’s true. But I did nothing but that in part because I couldn’t focus on anything that wasn’t mindless hack-and-slash. Or healing. Which, for me, at the level I am, is pretty much mindless as well. See health bar go down. Flash of Light, left-click. See health bar go WAY down. Holy Light, right click. See MY health bar go down, bubble, Flash of Light.
But you guys don’t care about my silly healing rotation, you care about my writing! Well, it’s… stalled. I hope I’ll be able to finish it soon, but I wouldn’t hold my breath. I’m kind of fail at this whole “serial fiction” thing so far, huh? I’ll work on that.
Take care!

Beka
So I’ve finally got to work on my WeSeWriMo project. It’s tentatively titled “Courser” until I think of a better name. After the war horse – light, strong, and swift. It makes sense eventually over the course of the story, I promise.
It’s kind of a blatant ripoff of Mercedes Lackey’s Valdemar books, but not so much as it was when I started. There are definite similarities between the two universes, and you can definitely tell I was inspired by her books, but I don’t think it’s similar enough to be infringing on her copyright, should I ever finish, clean it up, and publish it. Or, hell, if I should ever add a PayPal “donate” button. Still, I’ll wait and see how it starts coming out before I decide on if it’s “inspired by” or actually “ripping off”.
I’m hoping to have the first episode/chapter/instalment posted on Saturday, and a sort of “origin myth” posted before that. The myth isn’t part of the story itself, per se, but I can’t seem to find a way to work the necessary backstory into the first instalment itself, though that will hopefully change by the time it’s published, but on the off chance that I don’t manage it well enough for the universe to make sense, and I’m still learning how to do this whole “fantasy universe establishment” thing, I figure it’ll help to have a sort of “cheat sheet”, if you will.
Also, that last sentence was kind of EPIC long. Huh.
Anyway, that’s the state of the Beka at the moment, as far as writing goes – keep an eye out on Saturday! If I don’t have an instalment for you, I’ll at least have an apology. :)

Beka
Well, after having this site untouched with the launchpad theme since last October, I have finally gotten off my arse and decided to do something with it.
A friend of mine is participating in something called Web Series Writing Month, which is all well and good for him, as he has a few. I, however, do not. And that is a sad state of affairs, especially since I really want to kickstart my creativity.
So here, my friends, is my pledge: I’m going to come up with an idea for a text-based web series of some sort, and I’m going to write and publish at least two episodes for it, in the month of August.
This should be interesting, no?
